您是佛爷弟子吗?
尚无缘结识拜见,不过,我倒是拜见过另一位香根活佛,理塘香根活佛,理塘长青春科尔寺的寺主,现任中佛协副会长。
前 言
十五世香根·拉马交活佛慈悲巧善巧教化众生的美名已响彻九洲。
当有人问起活佛的情况时,聆听过他老慈语甘露的有缘弟子们,一般会告诉别人,上师是黄教有名的四大香根活佛之一。
一提起“大活佛”,人们也许就会想到:在万千聚集的人群中,身躯魁伟、法相庄严的大喇嘛高居在大法座上,手摇铃鼓,口诵经文,四周幢幡拥。如此的喇嘛才是“大活佛”。
而香根活佛却与此不同,好像诸佛菩萨有意安排他来去除众生们对“活佛”偏颇的理解似的。在日常生活中,活佛颇有禅宗大德之风:他即不坐大法座;又不摇铃击鼓;也不喜欢别人幢幡簇拥,而是平平凡凡的,没有任何与众不同的奇特之处。但是长期与他生活在一起的善缘弟子们,就能时时领会到上师的只言片语都是从智悲大海中流露出来的无上法乳。这种传法并无“大法”、“大灌顶”之名,只是普普通通、平平淡淡而已。正是这种不言之教,使弟子们更加生起了对上师的无比信心。
作为乘愿再来的圣者,他却不以活佛自居。有人问他:“听说你是活佛?”别人说我是‘活佛’,我只是借用了一下这个名字而已。我们这个暇满人身得来不易,应该利用一切机会去利益众生、做善事。既然现在我有“活佛”这个名号,就该利用它多为众生服务。”
香根活佛非常谦逊,弟子们的意见他总会乐意接受。有时就连小孩讲的话,只要有点道理,他都会赞叹并遵而行之。
有人问活佛:“听说您幼时曾示现过飞渡黄河、枷锁自落、石留足迹等稀有神通。这神通到底是怎么回事?”活佛答道:“是别人看到的,到底神通是怎么来的,我也不清楚。”尽管活佛闭口不谈自己的功德,却使弟子们更感到上师不可思议。大家敬信日益增长。
多年来,汉地南北各处追随活佛的弟子们从他老一言一行、举手投中之间得到了殊胜的加持。大家深深感到:上师的确是三宝、一切本尊、空行的总集体;是成就及善法的根源;是获得一切加持之处;是成佛之道的大导师。对上师的敬信,即是对三世诸佛的敬信,亦为生起一切功德的本源;而开起敬信之门,必须了知上师的种种殊胜功德。我们这些弟子虽略知上师今世的一些功德,已从中获得不少利益,如果能将上师历代转世的功德公诸于世,岂不是难令更多的有缘者得见此后而信心僧增,获大利益?
因而弟子们反复地向活佛启请,希望他能把自己前世的传记公诸于世。活佛微笑着告诉大家:“我们藏区有句谚语:‘夸自己的父母多么多么好,是不能代表自己也很好的!’算了吧,我今生就这么个样儿,是怎样就怎样,何必添油加醋,弄得那么复杂呢!”弟子们听了这话,更加想知道上师的历代转世情况,又反复启请。最后,上师勉强同意弟子们去搜集他前世的资料,并嘱咐没有必要广为公开。
令人欣喜的是,通过努力,我们搜集一些香根活佛历代转世的零散简介。但遗憾的是,香根活佛历代教化众生的详细资料均已散佚。并且,现已搜集到的资料是历代活佛的弟子们转抄的手抄本,文字上错漏之处亦多。此手钞本,后经四川省藏文大藏经对勘局的冬嘎活佛·泽让扎西整理、编辑,由香根活佛的弟子们释迦沙门嘎让·丹比尼玛译出。谨以此传奉献给一切有缘的众生,愿他们在菩提大道上与上师香根大宝常随永不分离。

Preface
When people talk about"the great living Buddha",the picture they have in mind is always like this;among a crowd of hundreds and thousands of people sitting high there on the grand rostum is the great Lama with stalwart body and a magnificent glowing of Dharma,rolling the rtamboling,chanting Sutras,surrounded by streamers,Image as such is the image of a "great living Buddha"
However,the Living Buddha sKyabs-mgonrin-po-che is quite different,it seems like that he was sent by the Buddha purposely on a mission to eliminate the wrong ideas about a living Buddha people usually hold.in the daily life, he neither sits on grand rostrum nor rolls the tramloling,he doesn‘t like being surrounded by streamers,he is plain and simple.But the disciples who have been with their master for a long time could always sense that even just a word or two of the meatier is the most sublime teaching coming for the sea of his wisdom and compassion,This type of preaching does not involve with terms like‘grand Dharma",or"grand Abhiusecana",is it just very common and plain,it is this way of teaching that way of teaching that increases the disciples‘respect towards their master.
Being a saint who is coming again to our worldly life by his wish,he doesn‘t show off his being a living Buddha,Someone asked him",Are you a living Buddha?",His answer was:"People say that I am a living Buddha,but I just borrowed this title.It is very difficult for us to he human beings in this life,we should make every effort to seize the chance to benefit others.Now that I have this title of ‘living Buddha‘,I should make a full use of it to serve all other beings."
Living Buddha sKyabs-mgon rin-po-che is very modest,he is always willing to accept suggestions from his disciples.Sometimes even a word from a child would be appreciated and adapted as long as is carries some sense.
Some people asked the master:"I heard that you used to manifest some kind of super power such as flying over the Yellow River,shackles falling down by itself,leaving footprint on the rock,etc,Where are those super powers coming from?"The living Buddha‘s answer was:"People have seen something ,I really don‘t know where actually these super powers coming from"Though the living Buddha keeps silence to his own merits,his disciples feel that their master is even unthinkable.
Over the past years,the disciples of our master from all parts of China have received blessing from his day to day conversation and conducts,They all deeply felt that their master is indeed a comlination of triratna, a master for all beings,he is the source of attainment,Kusala Dhamma and blessings,he is the master leading people to deliveerance,The respects towards the master is the same kind of respect towards the past ,present and future Buddhas and the origin of all merits as well,Then if we want to open the door of respectable belief,we must get to know all sorts of holy merits of our master.Though we disciples have benefited from our master a great deal since we know something obout the merits of this lift of our master,if we could reveal the merits of his successive reincarnations to the public,more peole‘s faith would be strengthened so that they would be benefited.
Therefore we disiples have begged the Living Buddha repeatedly to tell us about his previous life.The living Buddha told ussmilingly:"there is a saying in Tibet that goes:No matter how much you boas about your perents,it does not mean that you are good too.Let‘s just forget is ,this is what I am in the life, I do not want to make things more complicated."The master‘s words make the disciples even more want to know about his reincarnations;Finally the master allowed,reluctantly,his disciples to collect the materials about his previous life.
The good mees is that we have obtained some scattered information on his successive reincarnations,it is a pity that the materials which contains the account of his teaching to others lost.Also,the materials we have now are hand writing copies with a lot of literary errors .This hand writing copy has been sorted out and edited by the Living Buddha Dongga Zerang zhaxi and has been translated by the disciple named Garang Danbinima of the living Buddha sKyabs-mgonrin-po-che.This biography is to offer all the sencient beings with the wish that they will never apart from our master sKyabs-mgon rin -po-che on the way to their enlightenment.
