The one that Keijok Rinpoche showed us ( at Wesley's place) was a 6-armed Mahakala--not Vajrapani.
I actually had a good look at it. The material was "not metal, not jade"; black in colour and had a smooth surface. The first impression I had was that it was made by Graphite or Boron ( i.e. in the mid-80, they made most tennis racquets using these two material). But how? It required modern tech to from graphite and Tibet was so lagging behind in mordern engineering infra-structure...... I then directly asked Rinpoche for more details ,with Toksay Tulku as translator; he indicated that it was found after a lighting strike and it was picked up from the ground. He also pointed his finger to the sky and said that it was not made by human... I later I raised this question to " 上善如水" at the spot when he walked in the room....I remember he asked me for my opinion and I said "now I know what is the true meaning of "not metal, not jade' and we had a good laugh on this.
Many years later, I heard that one 'other' student-- no name here had this piece and he took it to HK. One day, he had a fight with his wife and his wife threw it off the window from their apartment and ever since that moment nobody had never seen this 6-armed Mahakala anymore. What a shame! |
