Tara (Buddhist Deity) - White

Eastern Tibet 1700 - 1799 Karma (Kagyu) and Kagyu Lineages Collection of Lostand Foundation

White Tara, Wish-fulfilling Wheel (Tibetan: drol ma kar mo, yi shin kor lo. Sanskrit: Sita Tara, Chinta Chakra), the goddess of longevity.

"...above a lotus and moon [seat] is White Tara Wish-fulfilling Wheel, like an autumn moon, the gathered fruition of [all] beauty, owner of the seven eyes. With one face and two hands the right is in the [gesture] of supreme generosity and the left holds the stem of a blue utpala [flower]; adorned with various ornaments and seated in vajra posture." (Kagyu liturgical text).

At the middle right is the 13th Karmapa Dudul Dorje (1733-1797) surrounded by attendants and students. At the middle left sits a red hat lama (likely to be Situ Panchen Chokyi Jungne) surrounded by attendants and students. Above the central figure standing on ribbons of rainbow light are Vajravarahi surrounded by flames, to the left Jinasagara Avalokiteshvara, red, with four hands and on the right side a solitary Chakrasamvara, dark blue in colour.

At the top center is the primordial Buddha Vajradhara with Vajrasattva below and the Buddha Amitabha below that. Surrounding those are the lineage teachers of the Karma Kagyu (Kamtsangpa) tradition; Tilopa, Naropa, Marpa, Milarepa, Gampopa, Karmapa Dusum Khyenpa and the like, continuing down to the 12th Karmapa. At the top left is the Buddha Shakyamuni and at the right is Guru Rinpoche Padmasambhava.

At the bottom center is the wisdom protector Mahakala Bernag Chen accompanied by Shri Devi (Tib.: pal den lha mo) in a two armed form at the side. At the bottom left is the mountain goddess Tseringma riding a white snow lion. At the bottom right is the worldly protector Shing Khyong, blue, riding a dark horse. The red consort rides at the side. Slightly above to the right is Damchen Garwa Nagpo, the Blacksmith, riding a brown goat.

  第十七世噶玛巴乌金钦列多杰作

                               潔白水生微笑花蕊上，無垢新月輪墊之中央，
                               足尖輕觸其上現美麗，世尊如意輪您賜吉祥。
                               清涼甘露顯現之法鼓，遍處耳根莊嚴極甘甜，
                               滴滴聲響無邊有情眾，行走菩提善道利益揚。
                               妙善旃檀稠密林海間，不可思議幻身如意住，
                               斷證千華解脫之涼蔭，具善緣眾福德盡圓滿。
                               雪月交融莊嚴之國土，五濁時劫黑暗極難忍，
                               發心陽光微笑之波浪，圓滿時代白蓮綻笑顏。
                               無偏教法執持之士夫，為欲调伏無邊諸有情，
                               足蓮妙善繚繞芳香流，願彼無數劫海恆不變。
                               於教與眾顛倒生瞋恨，彼等心懷魔鬼幢幡者，
                               損害之行與念速捨棄，利他菩提心寶令莊嚴。
                               欲求法財解脫生勝心，如持拂塵蓮炳有所忍，
                               護持教法有緣善男女，無病長壽富足得安樂。
                               世間國土五濁惡世時，聖母等眾慈悲心月光，
                               良緣馬車迎接圓時眾，願諸有情福德永恆常。
                               究竟大樂法身如鹿眼，離戲成熟千萬悅意現，
                               五道十地功德展莊嚴，勝義智慧喜宴盡擁抱。
                               以此願文金剛持水處，清淨信心弟子來請求，
                               妙善稀有綿綿之細雨，願三地得勝善之利樂。

      　◎常持念白度母咒，能除病因灾劫，能增长寿命及福慧，断轮回之根，免除魔障瘟疫。
